Free ATS and AI résumé check

Two scores in a couple of seconds: how a tracking system reads your résumé, and how much of it reads as model output.

  • Free, no account

The file is read, parsed and scored inside this tab. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is kept once you leave.

How it works

  1. 01

Drop in your résumé as PDF, DOCX, TXT or Markdown (up to 8 MB), or paste the text into the box.

  2. 02

Optionally paste the job description you are aiming at, so the score also counts keyword coverage.

  3. 03

Read the two meters: the ATS score should be high, the AI-writing score low. Each comes with its verdict and the top few things to fix.

  4. 04

Open Vulture for the full report: every missing keyword, every weak bullet, every parse warning, and the builder to fix them in. It is free.

Questions

Which file types work?

PDF, DOCX, TXT and Markdown, up to 8 MB, or text pasted straight in. A scanned or image-only PDF has no text layer for anyone to read, an ATS included, and this check has no text recognition, so export a text PDF or upload the Word file instead. Vulture's full check can read scans and photos.

Do you keep my résumé?

No. The file never leaves your browser. Extraction, parsing and scoring all happen in the tab, so there is no copy on our side at any point, and nothing is kept once you close the page.

What is a good ATS score out of 100?

Above 75 is a strong general résumé. Against a specific posting, look for keyword coverage above 72 per cent with every required term present. Most résumés lose their points in the same three places: no numbers in the bullets, missing required keywords, and a layout the parser cannot read.

Which ATS does it imitate?

It checks the behaviour common to Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Taleo and iCIMS: text extraction order, section detection, date parsing and keyword matching, rather than one vendor's private scoring.
