How it works

Add any photo: a landscape, a portrait, a product shot or a screenshot. Drop it, choose a file, paste it or use the camera.

Press Score this photo. The image is resampled to 1200 px on its long edge by repeated halving so grain and focus read honestly, then measured on a canvas in this tab.

Read the overall score out of ten, the eight metric bars with their readouts, the tone histogram with clipping percentages, and the framing grid drawn over the photo.

Follow the What to fix list, or copy the summary to keep with the photo.
Questions
Does the photo leave my browser?
No. The photo is decoded in memory and every metric runs on a canvas in this tab. Photo Score makes no network requests of any kind and stores nothing.
Does Photo Score download a model?
No. Unlike Skin Scan and Face Match, Photo Score is pure canvas math and works fully offline once the page has loaded.
What can the score tell me, and what can it not?
It measures technical qualities: focus, exposure and clipping, contrast, grain, colour vibrancy and saturation, white balance and where the visual weight sits. It cannot judge subject, story, timing or taste, and a deliberately soft, dark or monochrome photo can score low while being exactly what you wanted.
What does a good photo look like to this tool?
Crisp detail in the tiles that matter, shadows and highlights that are not clipped, a healthy tonal spread, low noise, natural saturation, a neutral white balance and a subject near a thirds or golden-ratio point. Feed it an unedited original rather than a heavily compressed copy.
